I had so much fun designing and decorating Kaia’s boho cactus themed nursery while she was in my belly! It really kept me occupied during those months we waited for her! I started the process by pinning things I loved onto my Pinterest Nursery Board. You can view it here! Will let me have full range to do whatever I wanted and he helped along the way building shelves and the curtain rod! I guess you could say he was the Chip to my inner Joanna! 😂
I decided to go with a boho cactus theme nursery that would flow effortlessly with the rest of our house. Besides, we’re in the desert and cactus is just kind of our thang! I wanted her nursery to be soft and neutral. Ethereal and quiet. Grown up yet whimsical. After all, this would be a room that we both would spend so much of our time in together. The wall paper was really what pulled it together for me. At first, I was a bit hesitant, but it added so much warmth to the room. I absolutely love how it turned out. Plus, Kaia really enjoys staring at it too!
I tried to keep a repetition of elements of soft woods, whites and pinks. One of my favorite things in the nursery is our baby play gym with custom made cactus play ring ornaments from Boho Baby Heaven (one of my favorite shops ever!) Kaia loves to play here and bat the cactus with her hands and smile. It’s just so beautiful and so interactive for her 2 month old brain. I love when form and function come together! Especially for kids toys and items! I also love the Pottery Barn Paxton glider. For me, it was very important to get something comfortable and with a tall back. This chair is ultra comfy and quite honestly, you just want to stay, relax and rock in it. Which is clutch for those early morning hours. It was a total splurge but so worth the investment!
Spending time in here with my Kaia is so peaceful. We love to listen to music and dance. Or just sit and enjoy the peaceful energy while she eats or rocks in my arms. It by far is my favorite room in the whole house! I was inspired afterward to become a nursery interior designer. So just let me know if you need help, because it became such a passion of mine! I hope our nursery can inspire you too! I have listed all the items below!
