Dried botanicals in many unique varieties – from palm fronds, pampas grass, and preserved amaranthus – make for gorgeous, everlasting floral arrangements for your home. They are so earthy, delicate, natural, bohemian, and the best part – no maintenance! In today’s post, I will be sharing how you can create an everlasting flower arrangement of your own!
But first, let us first take a moment of silence for all of the plants that we have unintentionally killed. May they rest in peace.

Inspiration
These everlasting arrangements are the work of Australian company, Terra and Tassel. From the use of color, texture, drama and all around style…I can’t get enough of how feminine and gorgeous these arrangements are! They are literally a perfect 10 on the swoon-scale. These served as the inspiration pieces for my own creations!
Choose a Vessel
I like to start by first choosing a vessel the botanicals will be in. When choosing the vessel, you will want to consider where it will be placed in your home, and how much space you will have to create the arrangement. It helps to measure! Whether you go vintage or mod, earthen or woven, there are so many ways to make a statement. For my arrangement, I used a previously purchased Target vase. But, here are some vessels that I absolutely love and think would be perfect for showcasing your everlastings.
Source Your Botanicals
After you have selected your vessel, now it is time to source your everlastings! There is always the option to go out into nature and pick your own. I picked a couple grasses in mine. However, the easier (but more pricey) option is to search online. AFloral, Terrain, Anthropologie, and Etsy are my favorite sites to shop for preserved botanicals. They offer so many gorgeous varieties. I have selected some favorites for you to easily shop and create your arrangement, down below! It will be a bit pricey putting it all together, but just think of all the money you’ll be saving by not having to buy fresh flowers with their fleeting beauty!
Create Your Everlasting Arrangement

Aim for mixing different heights and textures, while allowing some pieces to be more full, and others more delicate. The more organic and imperfect, the better, so have fun arranging it!
- Pampas grass, wheat and palm leaves are great for height, and filling in spaces to create depth.
- Bunny tails add in a delicate softness.
- Hydrangeas are great for filler.
- For a little organic drama and romance, add a preserved amaranths bunch and allow it to drape onto the table. I also love the look of dried natural banksia for visual interest.
When it comes to a color palette, there are so many options to make the everlasting arrangement fit your home and your aesthetic! I personally love to stick to the neutral tones of whites, creams, blush, and beiges. With possibly some pops of orange, and yellow too! That color palette makes me the most happy!
Caring for Your Everlasting Arrangement

There isn’t much in the way of tending to your arrangement once it is created. Maybe a little gentle dusting here and there. All that is required of you is to simply enjoy your creation, and to be reminded of the colors and textures of summer, all year round. Now aint that sweet?
