Strap into Spring with Teva Sandals

My love for Teva Sandals perhaps is nostalgic, as it was created in Arizona during the year I was born. In 1984, a guide on a raft at the Grand Canyon, rigged two velcro watchbands to a pair of flip flops, to make a shoe that wouldn’t float away (genius!). I remember wearing them as a little girl, and more than 30 years later, this iconic sandal is still an endless style and adventure staple. I love staying loyal to a brand that continues to respresent freedom, timelessness, and self-expression. For Spring, I’m strapped into the Terra-Float2 Knit Universal sandal. As much as I love to bring them on my travels, I…

    Resort Wear Dresses for Spring

Over the weekend we spent time at one of my favorite resorts in the valley, The Royal Palms. Will and I were hired to model for their website. They hooked us up with a beautiful casita and fabulous food and drink. The Royal Palms Hotel feels like stepping into another world. It is lush with tropical palms, flowers and plants. It was originally a private home in the 1920’s and then by the second World War, it was converted into an Inn. Today it holds 119 rooms, which creates a very intimate and private experience for all the guests. I could spend all my time leisurely strolling the property, sipping…

    Keeping it Wild in Reformation

The desert is alive right now! This is always hands down, my favorite time of year, because everything is blooming and so colorful. We spent a morning at Desert Botanical Gardens in the butterfly exhibit. We bought a year long pass last year, and honestly, it was such a great investment. DGB is seriously one of my favorite places to stroll, photograph and experience the lush beauty of the desert. I found this dress on Reformation, and I absolutely LOVE how this whole look pulled together. This “Alessa Dress” in the Janeiro print is so playful, and has just the the right amount of safari style vibes. I love the cut-out…

    Coal Mine Canyon

Coal Mine Canyon has to be one of the most underrated places in Arizona. I discovered it a couple years back scrolling Instagram, and immediately knew I needed to make a trip to see it one day. To our great surprise when we arrived, this place was completely desolate. We had the whole ENTIRE canyon to ourselves for the afternoon and evening. The desert landscape here is extra-terrestrial; planetary. There was a heavy silence that was almost overwhelming. It made this place eerily beautiful. From the canyon walls shaped like bone, to the jaw-dropping heights that plummeted hundreds of feet below you, it was easy to feel small and wary…

Why Disney Ruined my Love Life

I’m a recovering romantic. I blame Disney for convincing me that love was a thing of make believe and fairy tales. For instilling in me this idea of “Princess Culture” where beauty is the most valuable asset a woman can offer, and being sweet and submissive are her forms of charm. Now, I don’t claim to be a feminist, but with the rise of the “Me Too” movement and #Timesup, I’m beginning to see how women’s experiences (including my own) have been shaped by this culture. You see, for most of my life, I dreamt about being rescued by Prince Charming. You know the type. That dashing guy who swings…
