    Oh My Gourd!

I don’t know about you, but fall is my favorite time of year. From the changing of the weather, to the anticipation of the holidays, and the fashion!! Let’s be honest, I’ve never met a turtleneck I didn’t like! And, of course, you can’t mention fall without the ubiquitous pumpkin! From candles to coffee…my blood type is basically pumpkin spice now.  And I’m totally OK with that. Fall this year, just feels like happiness. 2017 has been a great year; a year of healing and rebirth. Maybe I’m feeling a little sentimental, but I’m just full of gratitude as the season and seasons of life change. And with a little faith in yourself,…

    Pajama Day

There’s nothing like waking up in the morning to fresh coffee and pancakes (in BED)! And then snuggling up to your favorite furry friend. My B + I love slow, lazy days (they’re often rare around here!) where the only to do’s on the list are pillow fights and power naps. Heavier on the latter. Low key, we stayed in our cute + comfy Raven & Crow pajamas all day. Sometimes, the snuggle is that real. Oh! And if you snag yourself a pair of these PJs to lounge in too, you can get 10% off with the code katenelle! How sweet is that?!   SaveSaveSaveSave

    COACH x Selena

Maybe it’s my sunny disposition, but being a wall flower is so boring! I’m embracing more color these days. And a little more whim. Here are a few of my favorite things I’ve been loving to keep my style fresh: Fringe Earrings. They instantly add life to your face! And any outfit! These red ones are bold and statement making. Just the pop I needed to keep me feeling fresh + fun! A red bag. This Coach x Selena tote is seriously one of my favorite accessories this fall. I honestly feel like I can wear it with almost anything for that unexpected accessory. It is such a classic style…

    The Little Things

When it comes to life, love, friendship, happiness…the little things are infinitely the most important. That’s what my Soul Honey tee says. Such sweet words and such a great reminder. Sometimes, I think we can get so caught up in things (like deadlines, images, statuses, careers, technology, etc.) that we can miss out on what is right in front of us. Like how a stranger smiled at you, or how your significant other saved the very last bite of tiramisu for you. When you notice the little things; when you are awakened by them – life becomes more tangible, more real, more beautiful. The little things create gratitude in your life.…

    The Language of Trees

The aspen trees have a different energy than the cacti that I am used to. It appears as though the knots on their trunks are watchful eyes. As I stare into them, my imagination takes over, and I wonder, could they be watching me? A leaf falls. I look up. Suddenly, I feel small. Their billowing branches softly sway in the wind, as though they are speaking a foreign language that only a tree would know, and a bird would hear. And as I wandered through their forrest, further into their enchantment and mystery, I wondered, could they secretly be whispering about me? I think they’d laugh at the girl…

    Lovestitch

Kimmie and I woke up early to catch the sunrise at one of my most favorite photo-op spots in Arizona, the Salt River. The Salt River is such a gorgeous expanse of desert, with stunning saguaros and mountain views. If you’re lucky enough, you might catch a glimpse of the wild horses drinking in the streams. As a photographer myself, this is my go-to spot for bringing my clients. I usually go to a particular spot (Phon D), however, Kimmie, took me to Coons Bluff. It’s situated with a view of the stream to the East, so it’s best to go at sunrise. It was a small hike to the…

    If You Like Pina Coladas…

Sun, sand and a pineapple in hand! As the old adage goes, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” That basically applies here too! Except it’s more like, “When in Rocky Point, do get a piña colada from a piña colada truck!!” It’s pretty much one of the most importante things you could do! And luckily, piña coladas happen to be one of the 5 essential food groups while one vacation. The other four would be: chips, salsa, guacamole, and queso. (In that order!) I’m so glad had I packed this breezy little Planet Blue number too, because (stretchy waistline) and whew! Was it hot! Not the drink, that was cold!…

    Cosmico

Lately, I find myself spending days where time is never planned. Just jumping in the car, and heading north to cooler weather and open spaces. It’s always a reprieve from the concrete jungle and the heat of the city we’ve been living in. Sometimes, we know exactly where our destination is. And at other times, we just drive. When I’m not roaming, I like to listen to tunes that keep me with the wander vibes. Feel free to enjoy these tunes too, whether it’s on the road or from the comfort of your desk. It’s a little cosmic. A little stardust. A lot of dreaming…enjoy! https://open.spotify.com/embed/user/ktgolightly/playlist/5bgLgwRZwQkVPJ7Qlbfk36

    The Grand Tetons

If we were walking through these fields together, I might say in passing, how beautiful it is here. I might tell you, there’s nothing like this sunshine. Or how much my heart opens in the expanses of these kinds of places. I might tell you, there’s something in the air that allows me to breathe in a little deeper. A found refuge, to these mountains I’ve been climbing. And the wonder of it all is, no matter how high our peaks are, we keep going. Still open. Still trekking forward. With curiosity, wonder. Just softening into the great divide.
