Upcycle Pots with DIY Terracotta Chalk Paint

I wanted to share with you a really easy and fun transformation on today’s blog post! I am upcycling old pots with a few fresh coats of D.I.Y. terracotta chalk paint! We had these pots laying around, that were great in size and shape, but the color wasn’t matching our current aesthetic. We really didn’t want them to go to waste, as they are beautiful (and expensive!). So with some D.I.Y. chalk paint, we transformed them into faux terracotta pots. The finished product is beautiful and truly resembles true terracotta. Chalk Paint Chalk paint is a decorative paint known for it’s matte, chalky appearance. It has more of a rustic…

D.I.Y. Cane Book Shelf – Flisat Ikea Hack

Cane is definitely having a moment in the interior design world. It has taken on a more modern and fresh form, even though it has been around for hundreds of years. Think less Grandma’s house with heavy woods and florals, and more Scandinavian-Boho artfulness, with natural woods and clean lines. As trends tend to come and go, and circle back – if paired right, they can become timeless within any space. In today’s post, I am adding this traditional material to the Flisast Wall Storage and Flisat Book Display from IKEA, for a quick and simple hack. We will be installing them in Kaia’s “biggish” girl room for a cute…

    Our Scottsdale, Arizona Home Remodel

In December of 2019, we bought a house in our favorite neighborhood! Finding the perfect home for our family, was all about location, location, location! It took 3 long months of searching, but we finally found THE ONE. It is a 2,000 square foot, 1970’s ranch style home on a quaint little cul-de-sak street. When we bought this house, we knew that we were biting off more than we could chew. It needed some serious TLC as it hadn’t really been maintained or updated for several years. In fact, it could have used a good gut job. But that just wasn’t in our budget. So we decided to work in…

    Kaia’s Boho Cactus Inspired Nursery

I had so much fun designing and decorating Kaia’s boho cactus themed nursery while she was in my belly! It really kept me occupied during those months we waited for her! Will let me have full range to do whatever I wanted and he helped along the way building shelves and the curtain rod! I guess you could say he was the Chip to my inner Joanna! čśé I┬ádecided to go with a boho cactus theme nursery that would flow effortlessly with the rest of our house. Besides, we’re in the…
